Planning Your Wedding During COVID-19

2020 was supposed to be a magical year, full of promising wedding days and designs, couples so excited to get married in this special year! Alas, March rolled around and it quickly became clear we were going to have to reschedule and move our spring weddings. We sprang into action, contacting clients, contacting venues for policies and availability, and gathering vendor teams' availability. Brides and grooms just a month or two from their special days had plans come crashing down. Our hearts broke for our couples. When they should have been accepting those final RSVPs, approving final print designs for day-of stationery, and jetting off on their bachelorettes, everything froze. We worked with everyone's teams to reschedule and move wedding days around and sometimes having to go to bat for our clients regarding some vendors' policies.

Now we are in May, and we are sadly looking at moving late summer and fall weddings--even a winter wedding! We probably will not have any weddings in 2020, except for perhaps 1-2 smaller weddings. As planners, we are ingrained to expect and anticipate the unexpected, and being able to quickly and proactively handle the situation. No one ever thought this is what 2020 would bring and that it would be the ultimate test of reacting to the unexpected. However, we pride ourselves on being there for our clients and working with them to move vendor teams and adapt and react to their new wedding days. We have done all of this complimentary for our clients, declining to implement rescheduling fees or charge for the additional scope of work. Helping our brides, grooms, and their families through these trying times is our duty as their wedding planner. We are excited for 2021 and celebrating these couples when their new day arrives. For now, we will be knee-deep in emails and rescheduling, but it will all be worth it in the end. The thanks and gratitude our brides express keeps us pushing on, and we relish knowing we're doing the right thing.

xo,

Stephanie
