Summer Tented At-Home Wedding
Emily has been dreaming of her wedding day since she was a little girl! And she in fact knew her wedding venue all along - her childhood home! Her parents have a gorgeous property in Waterford, VA that served as the perfect locale for their wedding day. With visions of shades of blue, chinoiserie, a wedding crest, and a "love bird" theme... SRS Events worked with the bride and her mom to help bring the wedding day to life. The groom, Luke Stup, also has the nickname Bird by friends and family, so it helped further tie into their love bird theme, along with highlighting a quote from their favorite movie, The Notebook, from the iconic scene, "If you're a bird, I'm a bird". An 8ft wall was crafted by the Dandelion Patch and featured blue birds as if in flight with hand calligraphy with each guest's name and table number and the quote at the bottom. The sailcloth tent incorporated numerous lush blooms in chinoiserie vessels from the florist, Floral & Bloom, as well as a family friend. Stradley Davidson has the perfect blue bird linen used on the long tables under the tent. Guest favors featured a ceramic bird at each place setting that the couple had been collecting. These days, brides often hear to "Skip favors...no one takes them" However, every single bird was taken home by guests at the end of the night! Despite a deluge of rain the day prior and the morning and afternoon of the wedding day, the couple's high spirits and joyful personalities never faltered and they had an amazing time celebrating with their friends and family!
